Spring Colors

My son took the dandelion picture. At times, he feels like trying something new and LCD swivel is it. :)

The colors are at their peak, most of the flowers have shown their Spring colors and yet I have seen one more while driving. The cherry trees in the lane, just caught me to stop and luckily I had my camera along. Enjoy the Spring and thank God we have senses to take it all in.

Twelve

Turning twelve! Celebrating by having my four best friends and a sleep over. We played outside driving the golf cart, a pinata of candy, and lots of food. My brother made the pizza, I requested a double crust cheese pizza - delicious! My donut cake and Carvel' ice cream cake hit the spot. We watched a movie (my parents weren't too keen on it) and we talked / yoga til 2 AM. Ah the fun of being twelve. :)

Trash Walk II

Another nice Sunday for a 'Trash walk'. Slight breeze in the 50*Fs and we walked the other way and down the road we picked up 1 buckent and 4 bags of trash, soda/beer cans. It amazes that lazy people can just throw the garbage out their car window having no respect for the environment when they do this. The last picture, is 'skunk cabbage' I found near the creek, I never seen this and googling it, found out its a stinky Spring foliage!

Buck County Reading Olympics 2009

Reading Olympics Ballistic Bobcats - three hour event, 2 straight hours of questions and answers and finally scoring 55 points, getting Blue Ribbon - 1st place among other readers in the schools.

"The goal of the Reading Olympics is to increase students' reading for enjoyment and increase reading skills. Students collaborate with their teammates to read forty to fifty books that have been selected by a committee of librarians, reading specialists and classroom teachers. These professionals read the books and write questions which teams of students answer during the competition. The Olympics are primarily a celebration of reading rather than a contest. All participants are awarded ribbons. Since the teams generate much excitement about this event, the experience is rewarding for everyone involved."

YoYo

It's been raining for two days straight (I'm going YoYo) , perhaps the sun will peek out tomorrow. In the meantime, got a like-new A80 on Ebay for $81, a steal as my first A80 went CCD dead. (Canon repaired the issue for free but meanwhile as it was being repaired, they screwed up the lens alignment making my pictures all corner blurry. Canon gave me a free refurbished A590IS and new Canon recharger/battery kit.) For my son's birthday, I got him this A80 as he loved that camera as much as me.

It goes to show with all these MegaPixel(MP) wars going on, lets get back to the IQ of the digital cameras.

Poetry

Today I got my book in the mail.

Exciting, as it is my first poem I wrote that got published. There were 30 students in my class and 25 got picked.

I love to write poetry.

Corn beef and tulips

It's a belated Irish meal I tried for the first time, corn beef, cabbage and beer. Later added the potatoes. It was delicious but on the salty side. The cabbage tasted just like sauerkraut.

The tulips are beautiful and wishing all a Happy Easter - He has risen !

Dying eggs

Its that time of year, and no matter if your young or old, dying eggs is like one of those traditions the kids still like to do.

Here are some of the eggs in the drying stage before the stickers go on tomorrow.

DRE Easter Hunt

It was a blustery morning with winds up to 40 MPH, and the Easter hunt is on for all kids, ages 1 to 10 years old. Even a Press Pass photographer for the local paper was shooting among the kids. A wonderful turnout and also encouragement for the Summer Vacation Bible school.

Spring in the full

It started out with a cool foggy morning. Ending with blast of sunshine in the low 60*F.

This morning, my third MRI at DH, results to be read later this month by the neourologist. If it was like six months ago, then nothing to worry about. It's a follow up to see if any new white spots appear on the brain. (MS) but so far, it seems null.

The daffodills are starting to bloom all over the beds and crocus' too. I am hoping the tullips come up soon after.

Spring is here and thankful for new life.
