Spring Storm

On Sunday, an early spring storm came through the area bringing golf ball sized hail and strong winds in the early evening nearby to Quakertown and Lansdale. (was it a small twister? as Burks County, further away, had tornado warnings)

We experienced the strong downpours and lightening as it passed while eating at Lubertos.

Who would have know that a few hours earlier, I shot these crocus' in the late afternoon sun and it was abit windy.

Crocus'

After a good soaking rain last night, today was a beautiful warm day in the high 60*F. I found more crocus', these were more white with streaks of purple. Ah Spring is finally here and to see all the flowers are a true inspiration after a long cold Winter.

Race for Education

My son won the contest (with a friend, she gave the ideas and son did the designing ) for the logo on this t-shirt for 'Race for Education' to raise money for the school.

First days in the garden

Yesterday I planted 100 onions in the first row with two packets of 'Sugar snap peas'.
The garden had been rototilled and then leaf mulch was added.
Today was a drizzling rain making a nice moisture to the seedlings.

New Orleans, LA. 2009

Mark went down to the New Orleans, LA. (to Franklin County March 15th - 20, 2009 ) with Ed Wyse, Wes Cosand, and Rich Leatherman.

For the week, dry walling, painting and electrical work was done.

Every morning was spiritual time and a chance to get together to pray and mediate.

One evening we had got kitchen duty to do the dishes for the whole group of ~35 workers.

Honeybells

Honeybells and grapefruits - I always enjoy these two citrus fruits.
These honeybells, sweet and juicy, came from Florida brought by a local trucker who parks his truck at a local restaurant to sell his produce.
I got a half a box each of honeybells and pink grapefruits.
Such a treat to eat these slices of honeybells. Yummy !
